What's a structure plan, and why do I need one?
A structure plan is basically an outline plan for every single sentence in your essay.
If you don't plan every single sentence before you write your essay, you will make some (or all) of these mistakes:
- not developing your ideas
- forgetting your opinion (when it is needed)
- topic sentences not matching the outline sentence
- irrelevant information in your conclusion
- grammar
- vocabulary
- spelling and typos
Chris shows you exactly how many minutes to use for each of the 4 planning stages in Module 4 of the Task 2 Writing Academy course. Please check your notes or re-watch this module if necessary.
Not making a structure plan is the #1 reason students only score a 6 for Task Response. Don't make this mistake.
