Should I start the reading exam with section 3 of the reading paper?

Some students think it's a good idea to start with section 3 of the reading test as this is the most difficult part. The advice is a straightforward no.

The best strategy is to try to maximise your scores in sections 1 and 2 before moving on to section 3. You should devote 20 minutes to each section and try to get as close to 100% in the first two sections as you can. This way there will be less pressure to get the most difficult questions correct.

Remember the exam is designed for students to get a range of scores and some questions to allow the score of 9 to be achieved, you don't want to waste time looking for the answers to the band 9 questions.
