When should I complete the Grammar, Vocabulary, Pronunciation, and English Advantage courses?
For the vast majority of our students, it will not be necessary to complete all of these courses. However, most of our students will eventually need to use these courses to address various key mistakes that they're making. Other students, particularly those who realize early on that they really need to review and improve all of their general English skills, could certainly view all of these courses to build a better foundation for IELTS.
Whenever you get feedback from us in regards to your writing or speaking, we're going to tell you what your key mistakes were, and that's when you should consider using these courses to help you improve your understanding of these areas. For example, many students share the same key mistake with articles, and would be wise to view Module 3 of the Grammar Course, along with Modules 7-14 of the Intermediate Section of the English Advantage Course; these modules specifically address one of the key mistakes that they're making, and viewing and understanding these modules can help them make fewer mistakes and progress towards their target scores.
Similarly, when you analyze your mistakes in reading and listening practice, you might find that the root problem is with vocabulary. In that case, it would be a very good idea for you to use the Vocabulary Course to help you understand how to study vocabulary and effectively expand your range of active vocabulary. Doing so would help you shore up a weakness and turn it into a strength, and this strength would apply to all 4 skills tested in IELTS.
In summary, unless your overall level of general English is quite low, it's best that you use these courses only when necessary, and to address specific areas that you need to improve in. If you make wise use of these courses, they can certainly help you to limit the number of mistakes you're making and help you get the scores you need.
