Some accents confuse me. What can I do?

It's very common even for native speakers of English to experience difficulties in understanding certain accents, so to gain familiarity with various accents, try viewing YouTube or Ted Talk videos that feature such accents. Watching series or movies from different countries is another way to become familiar with different accents.

Podcasts are also good resources. Accented is a podcast made for English learners and features real-life conversations in a wide variety of English accents. You can also search for popular podcasts in accents that you find challenging. Look at this list of Australian podcasts, for example, or these ones for the UK or the US. For more information about using podcasts to improve your English, take a look at this article: Can you recommend any podcasts for practicing general listening skills?

It's important to keep in mind that sentence stress works the same way, regardless of accent, so as long as you pay the closest attention to those words which are being stressed (said more loudly, with a higher tone, and stretched out), you'll be focusing on the most important information.
